I never learned how to fly - But I don't let it get me down
I can always take a cab - When I go out on the town
I've got a yellow beak - it contrasts with my dark physique
My wings have got a satin shine - I look so elegant when I dine
You know they kicked me out of the nest way too soon
I spent my whole degenerate youth in a saloon
I had a little perch above the door
Where I would sing out "Nevermore"

Black is beautiful - I love the night - See how my feathers steal the light
Black is beautiful - I love the night
Standing on the corner in formal attire - flagging down a cab cause I missed
my Flight
See how my feathers steal the light
Frothing' at the beak with my chickadee - I'm Al Pacino meets Barry White
Black is beautiful - I love the night
I'm a walker, a talker, a midnight stalker - I sing my music in the dark
See how my feathers steal the light
I'm a croaker, a joker, a red hot poker - I'll take you nesting in the park

I never learned how to fly - don't need the wind beneath my wings
I'm a connoisseur of art - pinky rings and shiny things
I leave the statues to pigeons, the limos to the J's
All of that's beneath me, I got sophisticated ways
I'm a bird about town
